Texas ranks No. 1 on the 2009 Fortune 500 and 1000 lists for the second year in a row. The State has seen unprecedented growth by company headquarters over the last year, spurred in part by the it’s pro-business environment amidst a nationwide recession. Texas is home to the most Fortune 500 companies headquartered in state with 64 companies (up from 58 in 2008) and the most Fortune 1000 companies headquartered in state with 118 companies (up from 113 in 2008).
